Siyabonga was called to the bar in 2021 after successfully completing pupillage in 2020. Prior to joining the bar, Siyabonga was a public prosecutor based in the Johannesburg Magistrate Court.

During his tenure as a prosecutor, he acquired extensive experience in drafting various charge sheets as well as conducting criminal trials.

Whilst he was a prosecutor, he underwent various training programmes that were offered by the National Prosecuting Authority in conjunction with the Justice College.

As a prosecutor Siyabonga prosecuted numerous offences including but not limited to the following: murder, rape, fraud, robbery, and theft to name a few.

Prior to commencing pupillage, Siyabonga was reading towards his Masters in Tax law.

Siyabonga has litigated and appeared in several High Courts and Magistrates Courts.
