Mduduzi was admitted to the Bar in 2015. Among his academic qualifications are an LLB (Wits) and LLM in International Law (UJ). Between 2012 and 2014 he practiced as an attorney at Phungo Incorporated.

His work experience includes as a researcher for the erstwhile Judge President of the Labour Appeal Court Raymond Zondo, a Law Clerk to Justice Johann van der Westhuizen at the Constitutional Court of South Africa and stint as a researcher in the Office of the Chief Justice.

At the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development he was employed as a researcher for the Department’s Chief Litigation Officer.
