Adv. Mamoepa, affectional known as Zaza, began her legal career as a Judge’s secretary in the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Local Division, sitting in Johannesburg. During her stay at the High Court, Adv. Mamoepa had the opportunity to be mentored by the then Deputy Judge President (Ret.) Judge Mojapelo. Adv. Sechaba Mamoepa completed her Bachelors of Laws from the University of South Africa in 2015. After completing her LLB, she resigned as a Judges’ secretary and went on to complete her practical legal training (PLT’s) at the Polokwane Law School where she was voted in by her peers as secretary onto the leadership committee which is A mentorship program aimed at assisting students with the program, as well as, a peer mentorship program.

Between 2016 -2019: After completion of law school, Adv. Mamoepa undertook her articles of clerkship at the firm of attorney Swart Redelinghuys, Nel and Partners in the litigation department. Her key duties included but were not limited to: - General Civil litigation (Motion Court appearances: opposed and unopposed matters, civil trials, interlocutory application), Debt Reviews Applications, Section 65 Applications, Maintenance Court Appearances, Criminal Court Appearances, Protection Orders, Domestic Violence  and Harassment Court, Family Court Applications.

Between 2019-2020: Adv. Mamoepa served as a legal advisor and board member: legal secretary for the non-profit organisation: Vuka Skhokho which aims to assist the youth and young adults with substance abuse and harm reduction initiatives. In 2021, Adv. Sechaba Mamoepa took the decision to come to the bar. She completed her pupillage training at the Johannesburg Society of Advocates at Group 621 under the guidance of Adv. Kirsty McLean. In the same year; Adv. Sechaba Mamoepa decided to further her studies and is currently completing her Masters in Law, specialising in Insolvency and Company Law.
