I am a passionate and hard-working lawyer, with more than 30 years’ relevant experience who believes in education as a pillar for freedom. Studied law from 1982 and qualified with a Diploma Juris, Bachelor’s degree in Law and Bachelor’s Degree in Laws. I started legal work in 1985, as a third party claims handler in the Department of Transport and served as Chairperson of the Road Transportation Board. Served Articles of Clerkship, at Attorneys Ramarumo Monama, incorporating Bogoshi and Partners finishing them at Ackerman and Maree, in Mahikeng. Established Legal Department for the Department of Public Works, North West. Chairperson and responsible officer for the North West Land Reform Pilot Project. Served as a member of the Board of Directors for the North west Parks and Tourism Board. Served as councillor for N.A.D.E.L at the Law Society for Northern Provinces in 1998, I started practise as an Attorney on my own account under the name and style Lungile Tyatya Attorneys with offices in Mahikeng and Potchefstroom. I thereafter, served pupillage in 2011 and for the past eleven years practised as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa as a member of the Johannesburg Bar, with the Duma Nokwe Group of Advocates. Acted as Judge, North Gauteng High Court. Elected to membership of the Group’s MANCO, for a term of two years (22/23), serving as chairperson of the Duma Nokwe Foundation subcommittee. I was lead counsel in the merger of Glencore and Extrata, instructed by N.U.M. I successfully handled the Cindi restitution land claim. Also the case between Kgosi Sam Morwagabuse Mankuroane and Others. v. Government of Bophuthatswana, as correspondent Attorneys at Ackerman and Maree for Godfrey Pitje Attorneys.
