Adv. Hlongwane holds BCom Economics and LLB degrees from the University of Pretoria. He also holds Post-Graduate Certificate in Mining and Prospecting Law from Wits University.

Adv. Hlongwane was previously admitted as an attorney in 2015 and practised for three years as an attorney. He was called to the Bar in 2018 and completed his pupillage training at the Pretoria Bar. Adv. Hlongwane has been practising as an advocate since 2018.
