Background
Adv. Ghandi Badela was admitted as an advocate of the High Court of South Africa in October 2011 and was called to the Johannesburg Bar in 2012. He has specialised training in alternative dispute resolution, including international commercial arbitration, construction law arbitration, and trade and investment dispute resolution. He is also a mediation practitioner.
Prior to his admission to the Bar, Adv. Badela held senior executive and strategic-level positions for over 16 years at South African Breweries (SAB), PEU, and SAAB Grintek. He has also served as a non-executive director for City Power, Denel, and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
He previously served as a Legal Practice Council Councillor and executive committee member, and spent five years on the Johannesburg Bar Council (2016–2021). He is a member of the Johannesburg Society of Advocates' advocacy training team.
